Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic
Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly nursing team at Buckden and Little
Paxton Surgery.
We pride ourselves in proving a
high standard of care in a supportive environment delivering a patient focussed
service.
Previous experience is desirable
but not essential as training will be offered to the right candidate who will
be able to perform the
The role is 23 hours per week,
Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday morning.
Hours would be worked over three
or four days with clinics based both at Buckden Surgery and Little Paxton
Surgery.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must
cover General Practice HCA duties and assistance within the Dermatology
Community Clinic Services Team supporting Minor Surgery and Vasectomy,
delivering the highest level of care and assistance.
Duties will include, but are not
limited to;
Phlebotomy
Assisting with long
term conditions clinics such as diabetes, asthma, COPD
NHS Health Checks
Wound Management
Flu and Pneumonia
vaccinations
Smoking Cessation
ECGs
BP checks
B12 injections
Suture and clip
removal
Ordering nursing
stock and equipment
Precise and accurate
recording on patient records
You will work alongside the existing
nursing team to ensure:
Stock levels are maintained by ordering,
rotation and sorting deliveries. Identifying the best places to purchase
stocks and dealing with suppliers.
Completion of cleanliness, infection
prevention control measures and health and safety requirement of the role.
Doctors are supported in their clinics.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting
the welfare of all patients.

About us
We are a busy semi-rural practice
operating over 2 sites and supporting a practice population of 10,000+
patients.
The team consists of 5 GP Partners, 3 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 2 Practice
Nurses, 1 Practice Nurse Associate, 1 Lead HCA and a wider administrative team with
dispensary. Supported by PCN ARRS staff including Clinical Pharmacists,
Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers and Health Coaches.
