Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual to join our professional and supportive team at our Glevum Way Surgery in Abbeydale, Gloucester.

Main duties of the job

Main duties will include phlebotomy, ECG recording, blood pressure checks, and patient health checks. It would be desirable that candidates already possess some of the required skills, however comprehensive training can be given where necessary.

We are a training practice with 6 partners and 5 salaried doctors, offer a supportive, well-managed working environment and a happy and functional practice team and have received an extremely positive CQC inspection. We have also moved into a new £5M building that will help us to meet the future clinical needs of our patient population. The roles attract a generous holiday allowance and membership of the NHS Pension scheme.

Job Summary:

Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurses and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Health Checks

INR testing and Monitoring

ECG recording

Phlebotomy

Hypertension Monitoring

Carrying out audiograms

Initial Health Assessment Medicals

Domiciliary INR Testing and Monitoring, BP, and blood tests.

Restocking, ordering and maintaining phlebotomy equipment

Assisting with minor surgical procedures

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted at Hadwen Health
