Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paramedic to join our team.

As a paramedic in a busy GP surgery you would need to work within the Surgery using your skills and clinical judgement to provide a first point of contact for our patients that present to us with minor illness/conditions.

Main duties of the job

To support and work alongside the GP's who deal with all the acute/on-the-day patients. This role will involve assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these patients who present with undiagnosed conditions.

Working from a modern purpose-built air conditioned building in the centre of Torquay we look after 8,200 + patients. Our patient numbers have been increasing year on year based on an excellent reputation supported by independent surveys and feedback. You will be joining an established team of G.P.s with full nursing and admin support who have consistently achieved excellent QoF results (with minimal exception reporting) as well as D.E.S & L.E.S s; we have also achieved a rating of Good on every element of our CQC inspections. Additionally, we are a Training Practice and have Registrars.

  • - Ability to manage and prioritise workload
  • - Experience of the ECP/Advanced Practitioner role within Primary or
  • Secondary Care
  • - Basic IT skills in word processing and e-mail

Desirable

  • - Experience in using System One
  • - Non-medical prescriber with minimum 12-24 months experience

Qualifications

  • - Framework for Higher Education Qualification (FHEQ) Level 7 or Scottish
  • Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCOF) Level 11
  • - Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration

Desirable

  • - BSc in a training programme approved by the College of Paramedics
  • - Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • - Evidence of verification against the paramedic primary care roadmap
