Senior Receptionist

Job summary

We are looking for a confident, organised, and patient-focused individual to join our team as a Senior Receptionist at our busy GP surgery. This is a key role at the front line of patient care, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of reception services and acting as a senior point of contact for both patients and staff.

As Senior Receptionist, you will work closely with the Reception Team Leaders and Practice Manager to ensure the delivery of a high standard of service and support to patients, while helping to coordinate and guide the reception team. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

This is a 32 hours per week position, to be worked over a minimum of 5 days. Flexibility is essential, as the successful candidate will be expected to work across all Askern Medical Practice sites as required to support operational needs.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the reception team within the GP surgery. You will provide frontline support to patients, manage complex enquiries, and assist with the coordination and training of junior reception staff. Acting as a key point of contact, youll help maintain high standards of patient care and contribute to a welcoming and professional environment.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and experience with clinical systems (such as SystmOne) would be advantageous.
