Join our dynamic team at The Drayton Surgery in Portsmouth, where we blend high-quality patient care with a vibrant, supportive work environment. We are on the lookout for enthusiastic General Practitioners to fill 4 to 8 sessions a week in our forward-thinking practice.

Our expanding team operates across two sites in Drayton and Cosham, and we're thrilled to announce the upcoming relocation of our branch surgery to a brand-new facility near Queen Alexandra Hospital in early 2025.

Main duties of the job
Your day-to-day work will feature a mix of face-to-face consultations, telephone clinics, and eConsult sessions. You will have the support of nine experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who handle most same-day appointments. Plus, with a dedicated home visiting service, home visits will be minimal.
Duty Doctor sessions are on rotation and always supported by a dedicated Advanced nurse practitioner.

There are multiple opportunities for teaching and training in our long-standing training practice.
In addition to training GP registrars and FY2 doctors, we teach 2nd year medical students in dedicated tutorial sessions as well as 3rd and final years on placements.
We have a highly developed streamlined system to minimise administrative work, with support from a dedicated QOF/Admin team & Prescribing Team. We have a thriving PCN offering Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers, Health & Wellbeing Coach, MSK FCPs, Mental Health Facilitators, Cancer Care Coordinator, and home visiting Care Coordinators.
We aim to meet for coffee each morning at 11am and meet up socially in addition, to our Summer and Christmas parties.
