Job summary

The Drayton Surgery is looking for an Operations Manager to join its friendly, supportive and rapidly expanding team based in North Portsmouth.

Main duties of the job

No day is the same in General Practice and the successful candidate must be able to move at a quick pace, problem solve effectively and lead a growing team to success. You will be responsible for the general operations of the surgery as well as HR and over-arching responsibility for Health and Safety.

About us

The Drayton Surgery is a 23,700 patient surgery in the northern region of Portsmouth, covering the areas of Drayton, Farlington, Paulsgrove and Wymering.

We have 6 GP partners, 10 Salaried GPs and 6 Advanced Clinical Practitioners who are supported by a team of Practice Nurses, Health Care Support Workers and Phlebotomists.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Working alongside the Practice Business Manager and wider Management team, this role will be responsible for the overall operations of the Surgery and provision to patients. With a strong focus on HR and Health & Safety, you will be responsible for the wider administrative team as well as being a point of contact for guidance from other teams and managers. Experience in HR and current employment law policies would be beneficial. Ideally you will already be working within a leadership role in your current position and able to work autonomously or as part of a group.

You will be a strong leader and an effective communicator who has a positive, can-do attitude and ability to problem solve as and when problems arise. Excellent attention to detail and strong written and IT skills are a must as we transition to a more digital front door approach to patient care.
