Job summary

The Pembroke Medical Group is looking for a self-motivated individual with good communication skills to join us as a Finance Assistant. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be able to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality, have good IT skills and experience in a previous financial role.

This would be an ideal position for someone with AAT Level 2.

Main duties of the job

To support the Practice Manager in all areas of financial management. The post-holder will support with general book keeping, administration of claims, invoices and payroll

We are a large dynamic, forward-thinking practice with a growing population based over two sites, our main site in Paignton and our smaller site in Torquay. We have over 100 staff including GP's, Allied Health Professionals, and large teams of Nurses, Administrators and Receptionists.

£11.60 - £13.25 per hour

Job summary

To support the Practice Manager in all areas of financial management. The post-holder will support with general book keeping, administration of claims, invoices and payroll.

Primary responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the Finance Administration Assistant. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will depend on factors such as workload and staffing levels.

a. General bookkeeping including reconciling bank statements

b. Raising, uploading and ensuring any invoices are paid within the given time frame

c. Make claims for reimbursement to the commissioner for services provided by the Practice through CQRS / PCSE Online

d. Maintain an effective system for the handling of petty cash and cheques

e. Ensure all income and expenditure due to or made by the Practice is recorded in the accounts package

f. Providing information to payroll provider

g. Investigating and resolving payroll queries

h. Ensuring that all administration for Pensions is completed

i. Ensure the presentation of monthly financial reports is of a high standard

j. Work closely with the Finance Manager/Practice Accountant in the preparation of the end of year accounts report and other accounting tasks throughout the year

k. Assisting on ad-hoc duties as required
