Job summary
To support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. This is a temporary position for maternity cover for a period of up to 12 months.
Main duties of the job
You will need experience of working in primary/secondary care or community care and need to be confident in managing patients face to face and over the telephone. You will be required to work flexibly alongside our friendly nursing team which includes 1 Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Nursing Associate and 2 HCAs.
You need to have excellent organisational and communication skills and be a good team player with a hands on, patient focused approach. Key skills required include: Phlebotomy, Blood Pressure Monitoring, ECGs, Urine Testing, INR monitoring

We have an excellent, well-established team of administrative and clinical staff including 5 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, Registrars, Physician Associates and other undergraduate trainees. Height/weight measurement
Diabetic foot checks
Venepuncture
Ordering new stock
Chaperoning duties when needed
Other duties will include:
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgery equipment
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Recording accurate clinical notes in patients record on Systmone
Undertaking specific clinical activities for names patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
