To assist, actively signpost and navigate patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary
team.
Our vacancy is for 37 hours which will be spread between Monday and
Friday
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, flexibility and adaptability. You should be able to demonstrate excellent telephone and interpersonal skills. You must be a team player and have the ability to work under pressure in order to cope with the fast changing environment.
Previous experience in a similar customer services role and knowledge of SystmOne clinical system is desirable but full training will be given.

We are located within the town centre of Syston, in the district of Charnwood, with a mixed demographic population. We pride ourselves as a patient focused practice and our aim is to provide exceptional holistic care to our patients. administrative and clinical staff including 5 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, Registrars,
Physician Associates and other undergraduate trainees.

Job responsibilities
Ensure
an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any
other visitors to the practice.
Deal
with all general enquires, explain procedures and make new and follow up
appointments.
Using
your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior
appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and
non-disruptive manner.
To
keep up to date with latest technologies used within the practice ie Engage
consult/Accurx and use as per practice protocols.
Process
requests for home visits, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details
and referring to duty doctor where necessary.
Process
repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by
the patient within 48 hours, either electronically or manually.
Receive
and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring
accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
Enter
patient information into computerised medical record as required.
Deal
with electronic tasks from clinicians in a timely and accurate manner.
Fax
and photocopy as requested
Registration
of new patients who reside within our practice area according to practice
policy
Giving
out test results to patients in accordance with to practice policy
Chaperone
upon request following appropriate training, adhering to practice protocol and
guidelines.
Undertake
any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the
partners or management team.
