Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Secretary to join our dynamic practice. We are looking for a positive, flexible individual to deliver outstanding patient care and to join our team of hard-working but fun individuals. As a Practice, we strive to provide a high standard of service through efficient and effective communication, excellent interpersonal skills, compassion and sensitivity. The working environment tends to be fast-paced and interactive so the ideal candidate would be able to work autonomously, exercise initiative and work well under pressure. The post-holder will liaise closely with all other departments in the practice and be able to communicate effectively will all relevantly parties. They will ensure the safe and efficient handling of data across systems. We strive to provide supportive and friendly working environment for all of our staff. In turn, we provide a warm and welcoming, high service to our patients.
We are hoping to find someone able to work 37 hours a week, over 5 days.
Main duties of the job
Primary Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to input accurate and timely data entry, this will include read coding of documentation
- Audiotyping using the Lexacom system of referrals/GP letters/reports.
- Be involved in the timely scanning and filing of all practice documentation.
- Work independently completing referrals using GP clinical systems and patient notes. Accurately recording any documentation in the patient records
- Responsible for receiving and ensuring the appropriate actions are taken within the management of the practice email account
- Summarisation of all patient records received adhering to strict policies and procedures.
- Recording and completion of private fee work along with invoicing.
- Report any child protection and vulnerable adult concerns using the appropriate procedures.
- Respect the dignity, individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.
- To have knowledge of and act at all times within the boundaries of Health and Safety legislation and GDPR
- To be able to organise and prioritise both your team and your individual daily workloads.
- To provide cover for members of the team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
- To provide support to the management team if required. This may include general administration, typing documents and arranging meetings
- Demonstrate a good knowledge of medical terminology.
