Forum Health Centre is recruiting for an experienced receptionist to work with our friendly, award winning practice team.
The post is for 30 hours a week and flexibility and the ability to work various shifts between 7:30am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday is essential.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facing roles and be proficient on both the telephone and computer.
Candidates will be required to use the EMIS Web and Docman clinical systems as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The role is varied and rewarding. You will be working alongside experienced colleagues with a passion for patient care in a CQC 'outstanding' rated practice.

Job responsibilities
The
duties and responsibilities to be undertaken include any or all of the items in the following
list:
- Opening
up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance
with Practice protocols
- Processing
personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone
consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate
healthcare professional
- Processing and
distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Scanning of clinical
correspondence into the computer system and directing to GPs/staff
appropriately.
- Participate in
training and development towards document management and active
signposting standards as per the GP Forward View
- Receiving and processing online consultations and AccuRx SMS messages
- Taking messages
and passing on information
- Processing repeat
prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines
- Computer data
entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information
in accordance with Practice procedures
- Initiating
contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member
and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Providing
clerical assistance to Practice staff as required from time to time,
including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Ordering,
re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies
- Keeping the
reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from
obstructions and clutter
