Job summary

Due to new ways of working, an opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Brownlow family. Do you have a particular interest in Digital Health?. Our e-Consultation service is growing rapidly so this is an exciting time to join us.

This current position will include a combination of; e-Consultation, telephone consultations and acute face to face consultations with the opportunity to develop and lead in an area of special interest.

Full or part time working can be considered. Salary and Annual leave is in line with Agenda for Change. We can offer flexible working between 7am and 8pm.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will need to have experience as an autonomous practitioner and be a non-medical prescriber with a background in managing acute presentations in adults. Training will be given in e- Consults and other skill gaps.

Experience in primary care would be advantageous.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge in Advanced Nursing practice. They must be a non- medical nurse prescriber and used to working autonomously.

Clinics will include managing acute presentations, e-Consultations and Telephone triage.

There is the opportunity to progress within the organisation to a band 8a

Principal Clinical Responsibilities:

Whilst the post holder will work as part of a large multi -disciplinary team, they must be able to work autonomously and have experience in acute same day consultations with the ability to assess patients with undifferentiated, undiagnosed presentations and use advanced assessment, diagnostic reasoning skills and a range of other diagnostic support tools to manage, treat or refer these patients. This may also be via e-Consultations and telephone consultations.

Facilitation of Learning:

To support the ongoing development of junior staff and colleagues and participate in monthly education updates

To provide mentorship/supervision to junior staff and student nurses

To contribute in the quarterly group/1:1 Clinical Supervision sessions

Demonstrate problem-solving skills underpinned from perspectives, for example in research processes, service and quality improvement techniques, educational theory or leadership and management theory.

Participate in the implementation of Brownlow Health research projects related to general practice nursing.

Leadership & Management:

To develop own leadership skills within the Nursing Team

Able to assimilate information from a range of sources and ensure complex decisions reflect the analysis of these different perspectives even when limited information is available.

Actively participate in the development of Brownlow strategies and ensure collaborative working with others to translate this into practice development to improve the quality of care.

Able to support key aspects of quality assurance to develop robust outcome indicators for general practice nursing and other aspects of clinical governance.

Ensure others in general practice nursing recognise the importance of data collection and quality assurance and ensure that findings and other results are disseminated in meaningful ways to staff.

Where required undertake significant event auditing (or equivalent)

Able to work effectively with a wide range of professionals and agencies and participate in multi- professional/agency strategies.

Evidence, Research & Development:

Develop an area of expertise to be seen as a local expert able to articulate the most contemporary evidence, approaches to practice and management.

Involvement with review and monitoring of clinical policies to ensure they are based on contemporary evidence.

A willingness to share examples of clinical case findings in monthly Clinical meetings, clinical effectiveness group and/or other communication channels.
