Job summary

Phlebotomist (p/t or f/t- Minimum of 20 hours per week)

The Living Well Partnership is looking for great Phlebotomistto support the wider nursing team. With a relevant qualification (NVQ or Care Certificate), you'll be professionally qualified, enthusiastic, and committed to providing great patient care.

We care for 45,000+ adults and children across the eastern Southampton region. Our 8 different sites ensure everyone has local GP access, from the inner city to the rural outskirts. We have developed a continuity model which sees 12 separate GP teams taking on their own patient list of around 3,500 patients. Each team is supported by a dedicated Care Coordinator, a Care Coordinator Assistant, and the multi-disciplined, shared clinical resources of the Partnership, including: 21 Non-Principal GPs including 5 retainers, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators and our own in-house Pharmacy team

Our huge team is made up of 10 partners, salaried GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomist,Receptionists, and a variety of administrative support functions, amongst a Senior Management team.

All sites run EMIS Web and we are rolling out initiatives to enhance clinician support in administrative tasks and back office functions.

Some of your daily duties at The Living Well Partnership might include:

Influenza vaccination

Dressings

CVD monitoring

Smoking Cessation

Near Patient Testing recording

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Please note: The role will predominantly be based at West End Surgery & St Lukes Surgery in Hedge End, but there is always a requirement with the role to be able to cover sickness and absence at our other sites.
