Practice Nurse

Job summary

Water Meadow surgery are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our thriving practice located in the leafy Chiltern Hills, based in Chesham. The town is served by a London underground station on the Metropolitan Line connecting directly with London. We score highly in patients polls as one of the top practices in Bucks.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver care within the boundaries of their role, focusing upon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring of long-term conditions, health prevention and screening activities. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

The principal duties will include:

Wound Management

Long term conditions (diabetes, respiratory, cardiovascular, NHS Health checks)

Vaccinations and immunisations - child and adult

Health promotion

Cervical smears

Travel advice

Infection control
