As part of
an exciting new service development, South Blaby & Lutterworth Primary Care
Network and Dementia UK are working in collaboration to provide an Admiral
Nursing service with the aim of supporting families affected by dementia with
complex needs.
Main duties of the job
We are
looking for an exceptional, registered (adult / mental health / learning
disabilities) nurse with a passion for, and significant experience of,
providing relationship-centred dementia care. Combining direct work with
families alongside supporting the best practice of health and social care
professionals, you will call upon your impressive knowledge of evidence-based
bio-psychosocial interventions to improve the experience of carers / families
affected by dementia.
This post
is delivered in collaboration with Dementia UK who will support you to maintain
and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse through monthly
clinical supervision and practice and professional development. You will become
part of a national network of Admiral Nurses and develop professionally,
informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.
About us
You will
work across the area covered by the five GP practices which form South Blaby
& Lutterworth Primary Care Network and be an integral part of the MDT
providing proactive, wrap-around care alongside partner organisations. As this
role will help to shape the post-diagnostic dementia pathway, we are also
looking for someone skilled in service development and evaluation.
The
contract will initially be offered on a 2 year, fixed term basis. Secondment
opportunities would be considered at the discretion of the current employing
organisation.

- Registered Nurse (RMN/RNMH/RGN/RNLD)
- Degree level qualification or equivalent demonstrable clinical experience.
- Post registration qualification / training in dementia
- Formal knowledge of dementia/ older people acquired through clinical post-graduate education
- Willingness to work towards Level 7 Admiral Nurse Competency Framework Module
Desirable
- Additional nursing qualification.
