Belper PCN are a friendly, forward-looking PCN who need to
expand their talented clinical team to provide essential and professional care
to our valued patient population. If you

This role is as diverse as it is challenging, and you will
be working as part of a team providing support to the duty doctors within Belper
PCN and our advanced home visiting service for the frail and elderly,
housebound patients. You will provide care for the presenting patient from
initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and
management of care through face to face and telephone consultations. You will
need to be able to provide treatment to the patient at home, within the Care
Home and at one of our practices when required.
We would require you to have good communications skills, an
ability to prioritise and manage your own workload and being motivated by delivering
exceptional patient care.
The successful candidate will be supported by
clinical leads and the extended PCN team
Main duties of the job
As a General Practice Paramedic, you will work as part of a clinical team, with GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, First Contact Physiotherapists, Care Coordinators Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. A Paramedic would be involved with diagnosing and prescribing treatments and medication for acute illnesses whist working within defined procedures and protocols as laid down by the primary care network.
You will demonstrate safe clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice.
The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, with the ability to prioritise and triage the needs of the patients, accordingly, instigating appropriate investigations or referrals to colleagues and other care providers.
You will work collaboratively as part of the general practice multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The roles are both varied and diverse with clinical support and mentorship provided to allow the successful recruit to flourish.
The role will include working as part of the duty team and playing a vital part in performing urgent assessments whether this be remotely, in practice or in a patient's home.
