Job summary
We are a friendly, very busy Town Centre Practice. We are looking for a part or full time Practice Nurse, you would need Treatment Room experience ideally with some Primary Care experience, chronic disease management would be desirable but not essential, however we are really keen to see or speak with candidates who have Diabetes experience or training .
We have a have a branch site in Durrington and would need you to be able to work at both sites, we are also open to some hours worked remotely. We have around 14000 patients with a diverse range of needs, we are looking for someone driven and motivated to join our team.
We have a large friendly team both clinical and non clinical, as we are a training practice, we dedicate a large amount of time and effort into upskilling and training both our own practice staff and trainees. We provide supervision and mentorship, and we shut for 1 afternoon each month for training

Main duties of the job
Duties to include some of the below;
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Cytology
- Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
- Removal of Sutures
- Chronic disease management as agreed
- New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
- Travel Clinic
- ECGs
- Asthma/Peak/Flow Readings/Spirometry
- Venipuncture
- Hypertension Management
- Ear syringing
- Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
Other tasks may include
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
- Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
- Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets as instructed by partners and practice manager
- Ordering of stock from the District Hospital
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
