Job summary
We are busy town center GP practice, with just over 14000 patients, we need someone diligent, and hardworking to help code and streamline the flow of clinical correspondence through
the Practice to reduce the number of letters that the doctors have to read and
process. This requires that all incoming letters processed through Docman
Workflow are read, coded, and actioned accurately and safely. The Workflow Read
Coder will also process other clinical information, such as cytology and breast
screening results, and information from consultations at the GP access hubs.
Main duties of the job
Manage
the entry of patient data from all types of correspondence.
Read,
code, action and file all correspondence processed via Workflow on Docman
following the Workflow Optimisation Protocol. Where appropriate direct the more
complex correspondence to the patients doctor for their attention.
Read
code other types of correspondence including cytology, immunisations, and
breast screening. Add follow up diary dates as necessary.
Read
code information from consultations at the GP access hubs.
Process
GP2GP records into the Practices clinical database dealing with any degrades.
Identify
any key clinical data from correspondence, such as new diagnoses, BP
recordings, smoking status and code.
Offer
advice and support to other staff members as necessary.
Audit
Workflow and collate feedback from clinical team.
Liaise
with GP Workflow Champion.

We are a busy practice, with a large team both clinical and non clinical. We have 14000 patients and we work over two sites, the other being in Durrington. The team and friendly and supportive, and we beleive in giving the best patient care we can.
We deal with a large number of correspondence, and we need someone diligent and hardworking to work full time in the read coding team to ensure all correspondence and dealt with in a timely manner. This role needs someone thorough and quick yet efficient
