We have an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP.
Dr Ahmed's Practice Newton Heath Health Centre is a long standing family Practice based in North
Manchester, supported by a committed and highly trained administrative team.
We are housed in a purpose built Health Centre where our community
colleagues are based with who we have a close working relationship.
You will be supported by Principal GP Dr Ahmed, our Team of Physician Associates, ACP (in training), Practice Nurse, HCA, Practice
Manager, Data Quality Lead, Medical Secretary and Administrative Team who will support you in developing your skills and expertise. The Practice facilitates employees within all different levels of their careers, including trainee ACP's, GP Assistant and Physician Associates.
Competitive pay rates £12,000 per session
We have a registered population of 8000.
Main duties of the job
You will work autonomously as well as being a team player and someone who can support the delivery of policies and procedures within practice.
To carry out administrative duties in a timely manner in accordance with effective patient care. This includes but is not limited to Pathology Links, Docman, external mail, OnLine consultation, Repeat Prescriptions.
To carry out home visit requests where necessary as part of a rota with other GP's in the Practice. (Acute HV Team provision).
To carry out Practice on call cover for urgent queries as part of a rota with other GP's in the Practice.
We aim to provide an additional 9 surgeries per week by recruitment of a WTE Salaried GP

We are proud to have been Host Practice for our PCN during the Covid Vaccination Programme supporting over 50,000 vaccinations provided at the Local Vaccination Site, in Care Homes and patient homes.

Primary Responsibilities
The
following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on
occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon
factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the
entitled population
b.
The provision of services commensurate with the GMS
contract
c.
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national
guidance
d.
Effective management of long-term conditions
e.
Processing of administration in a timely manner,
including referrals, repeat prescription requests, Docman correspondence and
other associated administrative tasks
f.
On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and
duty doctor roles
g.
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with
good practice, policy and guidance
h.
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share (pro
rata) of the practice workload
i.
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical
guidelines and the audit process
j.
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous
improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
k.
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or
areas) or the QOF and Manchester Standards
l.
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as
required
m.
Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance
of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial
management and HR
n.
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
o.
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
p.
Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing
professional development across the practice team
q.
Support the training of medical students from all
clinical disciplines
r.
Support the partners in achieveing the strategic aims of
the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
s.
Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all
times
t.
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff
regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Secondary Responsibilities

addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested
to:

Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit
lead
b.
Participate in local initiatives to enhance service
delivery and patient care
c. Participate in the
review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach
i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
