Job summary
Kepier Medical Practice is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join their multi-skilled team working between 4 - 8 sessions per week.
The practice is a training practice hosting GP Registrars on a 6 monthly rotational basis and places an emphasis on continual professional development.
Main duties of the job
The duties of the post are to provide a full range of general medical services as contained within the National Health Services (Primary Care) Act 1997 and which will include domiciliary visits as deemed appropriate. The post holder is expected to provide all services outlined in the GMS Core Contract and also in the aims and objectives of the organisation.
The post holder is expected to support and input into the aims of the organisation in areas of clinical governance, good practice, quality outcomes framework, enhanced services, audit, referral review and any other improvement plans as determined by the organisation.
The post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement of services to patients.
The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training relevant to your role is expected.

About the Practice
Kepier Medical Practice is a friendly,
pro-active and responsive practice with an overall CQC rating of Good.
The practice is committed to future of the GP
workforce being a training practice, hosting a GP registrar placement on a six
monthly rotation.
We currently have 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs,
and 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners who are supported by an extended clinical
team consisting of 3 Practice Nurses and 2 HealthCare Assistants. We also have a 15 strong
administrative team and in-house practice pharmacists.
Our patient list size is approximately 8300
The practice clinical system is EMIS Web. We also use MJOG, Clarity TeamNet, Accurx,
econsult and other virtual platforms.

Clinical responsibilities:
In accordance with the practice timetable,
as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a
variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and
queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions
and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in
relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other
health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients
with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors
and early signs of illness
Developing care plans for health in
consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management
protocols
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and
from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous
consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for audit purposes
Compiling and issuing computer-generated
acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever
possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the practice
prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected
to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP
working within primary care.
Be responsible for checking the other GPs
mail/lab results when they are out of the surgery as per the practice buddy
system.

relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data
protection, health and safety
A commitment to life-long learning and audit
to ensure evidence-based best practice

records and read-coding patient data
