Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Green Meadows Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse to work alongside our current GP and Nursing Team.

Main duties of the job

Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by nurse manager and GPs, Cytology, Wound care, Travel, ECGs, Asthma, Venepuncture, Hypertension management, Routine and childhood immunisations, requesting pathology tests, maintaining GP and Nurse room, stocking and rotating items as required, Chaperoning, ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels, attend and participate in Practice Meetings when required and any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.

Green Meadows is a Practice of around 10 000 patients situated in a new building on the Heatherwood Hospital site in Ascot.

Wound Management

Venepuncture

Hypertension Management

Routine and Childhood immunisations

Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.

Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings as required.

Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs

Interest in: Diabetes / Coronary Heart Disease / Asthma / COPD / Contraception

Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to lead nurses or GPs as appropriate

Maintaining GP and Nurse rooms, stocking, and rotating items as required.

Ordering of Health Promotion Literature

Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels

Participation in administrative systems in the Practice

At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records

A duty to advise the Practice Manager of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks

Attend and participate in Practice Meetings when required

On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits

Any other delegated duties appropriate to the Post.
