Job summary

Well Up North LTD have a new and exciting opportunity for an Admin Support Assistant to join our Primary Care Network in North Northumberland.

Based in our Morpeth Hub within the NHS Centre, you may also be required to travel to other sites across North Northumberland and therefore a clean driving licence and own transport is essential.

Previous experience in primary care is not essential, although experience in a healthcare setting would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside our Lead PCN Pharmacist, David Pearse, and other clinicians within the Well Up North Primary Care Network Pharmacy Team.

The role involves managing pharmacy team tasks, maintaining accurate records of referrals and interventions, organising follow-up appointments, and running CQC searches. A full list of responsibilities can be found in the job description.

The post holder will be working as part of the Well Up North Primary Care Network (PCN). We have a combined list of over 62,000 patients across a group of 7 practices: Well Close Medical Group, Union Brae and Norham Practice, Wooler Health, Belford Medical Practice, Alnwick Medical Group, Greystoke Surgery, Gas House Lane Surgery.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage pharmacy team tasks and workload triaging to the most appropriate healthcare professional
  • Maintain records of referrals and interventions to enable monitoring and evaluation of the service
  • Running CQC searches to identify trends and communicate effectively within pharmacy team and wider WUN primary care network
  • Review SystmOne searches to identify and manage caseload with specific areas of focus for Pharmacy team
  • Actively participate in pharmacy team meetings and keep track of contact and actions
  • Help people transition seamlessly between pharmacy team and other services, organising follow-up appointments, and supporting people to navigate to the most appropriate service in a timely manner. Keep the healthcare professional informed of progress and outcomes.
  • Support pharmacy team at health promotion events
  • Support pharmacy team in developing communication channels between practices, community pharmacy and other agencies

  • Experience of general office duties. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Understanding of confidentiality and how to maintain this. Knowledge of office systems and processes (SystmOne). Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
