Ruskington Medical Practice
Due to an upcoming retirement, an exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to join the Nursing team at Ruskington Medical Practice.
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate General Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive village GP surgery to join our team working 28-32 hours per week over 4 days.
You will be working alongside a close-knit multidisciplinary team in a practice that genuinely prioritises staff wellbeing and work life balance, resulting in high-quality, patient-focused care.

Ruskington Medical Practice is a rural, dispensing GMS practice, caring for
just under 8,000 patients. We have a dynamic clinical team comprising one GP
Partner, two Salaried GP, two Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), one Advanced
Clinical Practitioner (ACP), and one Urgent Care Practitioner (UCP).
We are actively involved with our Primary Care Network (PCN) and local
Federation, hosting a range of additional roles including Pharmacists, a Mental
Health Practitioner, an MSK First Contact Practitioner, and a Paramedic Home
Visiting Team.
We offer extended hours nurse led service, providing flexible appointment access for patients who work or have family/carer responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver care for patients with chronic and acute conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, and hypertension. Refer patients to senior nurses or specialists as required.
- Assess and plan wound management, providing appropriate care.
- Conduct cytology clinics and support the nursing team by covering weekend clinics 2-3 times per year.
- Complete training and manage national vaccination programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Provide travel health assessments and appointments, and signpost patients to appropriate services.
- Team approach to Annual Flu Campaign which will include weekend clinics.
- Support infection prevention and control initiatives through audits, training, and compliance monitoring.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure the correct use of clinical coding systems.
- Identify and support patients with safeguarding concerns, liaising with relevant external services to assist vulnerable individuals.
- Delegate clinical tasks safely, ensuring they are within the scope of practice.
- Assist practice management with clinical audits, protocol development, target setting, and managing the Quality Outcome Framework (QOF) to optimize performance.
- Review and update clinical protocols and policies in line with national standards.
- Maintain and monitor mandatory training records.
- Review clinical incidents and contribute to learning and improvement.
- Support the nursing team by ensuring adequate clinic coverage during staff absences.
