Coastal Partnership has a fantastic opportunity for a GP assistant (GPA) to join in our team on a full time basis, based at our Coastal Sites,Martham,Hemsby,CaisterandOrmesby. The GPA position is a support role, covering administrative, tasks and if appropriate, some basic clinical duties, enabling the clinical team to make the best use of consultation time.

Main duties of the job

The role of the GP Assistant, working closely with the GPs and Clinical staff is; To support the GPs and ACPs smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administration tasks on behalf of the GP. And contribute to the smooth running of the practice.

Job responsibilities

  • Proactively manage the pathology results, ensuring abnormal results are dealt with accordingly
  • Sorting clinical post and prioritising for the clinician in terms of actions. Signposting some post to others such as clinical pharmacist etc
  • Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to notes if required
  • Preparing patients prior to going in to see the clinician, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP/ ACP appointment
  • On occasion complete basic ( non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign
  • Monitoring clinical searches for patients, such as but not limited to, CQC searches and highlighting exceptions to the GP
