Job summary
Due to in house career progression, we are seeking a Practice Nurse
to join our team.
We are searching for someone to work with us for up to 18 hours per week from November 2021, who has flexibility to cover additional hours during holidays and
sickness cover.
We are ideally looking for someone who has some General Practice experience (cervical cytology, chronic disease management, childhood immunisations) or
Primary Care experience and knowledge of travel vaccinations and an interest in
Respiratory, would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
Working
in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct, the post-holder will provide
assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to
patients.
The
post-holder will work with reference to Practice agreed protocols and
guidelines, providing nursing treatments to patients both independently and in
participation with nurse colleagues and general practitioners.
The post-holder will have the required level of
training and competence and will work within patient group directions (PGD) where
these are available.

Latchford Medical Centre is a small, friendly, PMS Practice with 7,000 patients.
Latchford Medical Centre has a low turnover of staff who all work hard for our Patients and their Carers.
As an established Training Practice all team members are expected to encourage and support all our students ranging from GP Registrars and FY2s to student nurses and Administrators.

issues and gathering sufficient information to refer (e.g. womens and
mens health, sexual health, older people)
- Undertaking
monitoring tasks (e.g. smears) and providing advice as appropriate

depth monitoring and advice as appropriate to the level of the
post-holders specialty and working with the patient in deciding on
management plans.

injections and providing guidance in accordance with Local Guidelines

Immunisation (Adult
and Child)

Minor operations
- Assisting the general
practitioner.
Ear Care
- Providing routine
ear care, including syringing using Propulse ear syringe
Mental Health
- Screening Chronic
Disease patients for depression
- Communicating
with key workers
- Administering
appropriate prescribed therapies and monitoring for side effects.
