Job summary

Are you looking for a new role and want to join a team that strives to deliver excellent patient care and experience? We have had an opportunity arise to take on an experienced, motivated and caring Practice Nurse to join our friendly team.

The role is varied and covers all aspects of practice nursing, including family planning, coils, implants, chronic disease management, cervical cytology, immunisations, wound care and more. The appointments will be a mixture of face-to-face appointments and telephone reviews.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, passionate and have excellent communication skills with a caring attitude.

Previous experience in a nursing role is essential. Previous experience in a practice nursing role would be helpful but not essential.

Full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services and care to the Practice population, including routine tasks related to patient care.

You will deliver care within the boundaries of your role, and support patients to be healthy by monitoring of long-term conditions, for example Diabetes, COPD, Asthma and other chronic diseases.

You will work as part of a small Treatment Room team but also the wider Burdwood Surgery Team as well.

Burdwood Surgery is in the top ten best surgeries in Berkshire according to patients in the GP Patient Survey, 3rd place. We are a very friendly practice providing care for approximately 10,300 patients and we receive wonderful patient feedback.

Our Practice team consists of 3 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 clinical pharmacist and 1 primary care paramedic. We are supported by an outstanding team of highly skilled and organised Reception and Administration teams.

We use the EMIS Web clinical system, DXS and Docman 10, among other I.T. systems.
