Job summary
37 hours available (five days per week); either full-time or job share to provide maternity cover for up to one year.
As a Workflow
Administrator at The Three Spires Medical Practice (in Truro, Cornwall) you
will use your skills and confidence to read, code and act on incoming
correspondence.
Using an approved protocol,
you will decide which letters / emails need to be sent to a GP and with what
level of urgency, ensuring that the patient record is kept accurate and up to
date.
You will be extremely
organised, able to take a busy workload in your stride and have great attention
to detail. You will have excellent IT
and keyboard skills and ideally have experience in a healthcare environment.
Working closely with your
Workflow team colleagues, you will support each other in getting the job done
as quickly and accurately as possible.
Main duties of the job
You will be an experienced
Administrator with a proven track record of working on your own initiative. Organised and methodical, you will have great
communication skills, both written and verbal, and ideally have a good
understanding of medical terminology and Read Codes.

To review all incoming patient correspondence and Read Code relevant clinical information onto the Practices patient information system (SystmOne).
Identify and refer any clinical actions to the GP.
Undertake any administrative action as appropriate, and within specified guidelines.
Liaise with internal/external departments or healthcare providers as required.
Provide cover for other members of the Workflow (Clinical Correspondence) team for annual leave / sickness absence as may be required.
