Job summary
As a Receptionist at The
Three Spires Medical Practice (based in Truro, Cornwall) you will help our patients
feel comfortable when they phone or visit the Practice. You will use your empathy and customer service
skills to welcome patients, answer the phones, deal with enquiries and book appointments.
You will be someone who is calm,
a great listener and have the skills to explain sensitive information in a way
thats easy to understand. You will have
good IT and keyboard skills and ideally have experience in a healthcare
environment or on a busy reception desk.
We are a busy,
forward-thinking Practice with over 18000 patients who are cared for by a team
of dedicated GPs, nurses, HCAs and physiotherapists. Working closely with your colleagues, you
will ensure that our patients receive a positive experience each and every time
they contact the Practice.
Main duties of the job
Working 21 hours per week, you will be confident in dealing with the public, over the telephone or face to face. You will have great communication and organisational skills.
Your hours will be: Monday 8.00 am - 5.30 pm, Thursday 2.00 pm - 5.30 pm and Friday 8.00 am - 6.00 pm.
About us
The Three Spires Medical Practice is based in a purpose built health park in the heart of Truro city centre. In addition to the usual GP services, we also provide minor operations, vasectomy and well woman clinics. We have our own dedicated physiotherapy team who provide a Spinal Interface Service and MSK clinics and work with RCHT at Treliske Hospital in providing a dermatology 'see and treat' service.

- To answer incoming telephone calls in a prompt and professional
manner, responding to each call appropriately and accurately, recording
and relaying information as required.
- Provide patients with information as requested (at all times taking
consideration to rules and procedures regarding confidentiality).
- To receive patients in the reception area noting their attendance
on the computerised appointment system and scheduling appointments as
requested.
- Oversee and supervise the patient waiting area.
- Extraction of patient medical records.
- Produce computerised repeat prescriptions.
- To enter and update information on computerised systems including
registration information.
- General and confidential filing, including records, reports and
mail.
- To collate and distribute post.
- General duties in connection with Practice administration.
