Job summary
We are looking for a salaried GP four sessions per week to join our team.
The GPs are supported with document management and a medical assistant to reduce the
inappropriate demand on the clinicians time encouraging a manageable workload.
We have
regular clinical meetings with a quarterly educational lunch meeting.
The post
would be suitable for a GP of any experience or on the GP retainer scheme. The
practice welcomes and supports development in special interests.
We host FY2
Doctors, medical students from Imperial College and Kent and Medway Medical
School.
Clinical System: EMIS
Web with Docman 10 and Accurx Triage
Salary: Competitive with indemnity paid
Contract based on BMA template.
6 weeks annual leave with one week study leave
Main duties of the job
To provide general medical services managing a
caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in primary care setting,
ensuing the highest standard of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Working at Wateringbury Surgery (main site) and Larkfield Surgery
(branch site)
Clinical
responsibilities:
- In accordance
to the practice timetable, as agreed, the post holder will make themself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery
consultations and emergencies, telephone consultation and queries,
triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions
and dealing with queries, patient medical reports and examination (e.g.
insurance companies) on behalf of the practice, referral letters (NHS and
private), paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
- Making
professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,
whether self-referral or referred from other health care workers within
the organisation
- Recording
clear and contemporaneous computer based consultation notes to agreed
standards
- Collecting
data for audit purposes
- Compiling and
issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand
written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing
in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines
- In general
the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and
responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Wateringbury Surgery is a friendly and innovative semi-rural
dispensing practice with a branch surgery in Larkfield. We are a three partner practice with three
salaried GPs looking after a patient list of 9200. We are a high QOF achieving practice and our
CQC rating is Good. We have a
supportive team of Practice Nurses, HCA, Smoking Cessation advisor, dispensary
team and admin team and ARRS staff; Social Prescriber, First Contact
Physiotherapist, Learning Disabilities Coordinator, Childrens Health and Well
Being Coordinator, Children and Young Persons Mental Health Coordinator, Dementia
Care Coordinator, Clinical Pharmacists and home visit Paramedic team.
