Job summary

The Elms Medical Practice is looking to recruit a Practice Manager to join our busy and friendly team. The successful candidate will have previous GP Practice experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is motivated with outstanding IT proficiency, and who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have experience in managing change and developing an organisation to build for the future.

About us

We are a two partner practice based in the market town of Ormskirk. Our wider clinical team consists of 1 ANP, 1 Practice Nurse Prescriber and 1 Healthcare Assistant.

We have a very friendly and efficient reception and administration team.

We serve a population of over 5,000 patients and provide quality services to all who are registered with us.

We actively engage with the healthcare organisations in our area such as the PCN and CCG, as well as secondary care services to ensure that we are continuously improving our care provision for our patients.

  • Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level in healthcare or business, or have equivalent experience.
  • Leadership and/or Management qualification
  • AMSPAR Qualification

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects.
  • Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing accounting procedures including budget and cash flow forecasting
  • NHS/Primary Care/GP experience
  • Relevant Health & Safety experience
  • Experience of chairing meetings, producing agendas and minutes.
