Job summary
We are looking for a talented individual with strong IT and digital services skills who will have a demonstrable track record in IT support. An understanding of supporting IT in a Healthcare environment would be an advantage however its not essential and it is key that the person appointed has a vision for IT innovation within a Healthcare setting.
The post holder must want to improve and develop the overall digital patient experience for our large multi-site GP practice whilst also offer IT support to the clinical and non-clinical teams.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to lead new IT projects independently. This will include setting up new systems, implementing improvements in our current IT setup, designing IT protocols and taking the lead on IT training and development for staff.You will also be responsible for maintaining and managing the IT services for the practice, including our clinical system which is EMIS Web. In this role, you will liaise with system providers to ensure we receive an effective service from them.On a day to day basis, you will help colleagues with their IT needs. This means you will need to effectively communicate your own knowledge to help others. You will also be responsible for setting up new users, managing any required backups and ensuring system security and password controls. You will be the lead person on all third party software and maintain the practices IT asset register.

We have recently merged three practices to become Holderness Health and now serve a patient population of 36,000 patients. Our merger provides us with many new opportunities to shape services for the benefit of our local community. It is an exciting time for us as we continue to develop and build our clinical teams.
We operate from seven sites located across Holderness in Hedon, Keyingham, Patrington, Roos and Withernsea and have 19 GP partners and over 130 staff.
You will work with the Head of Finance and Information on developing new and innovative ways to encourage our patients to try digital healthcare solutions and support our patient services team in driving forward patient engagement.
You must be able to provide friendly, approachable and accessible support to colleagues when problem solving IT issues relating to the computer and telephone systems.

Job summary:
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Finance and Information to ensure the delivery of high quality and effective IT services within our multi-site GP practice.

Job duties/responsibilities:
Lead the ongoing development of digital services for patients including the website, online consultation and patient online services
Manage Clinical System and third party software including automated arrivals screens
Problem solve IT issues relating to the computer and telephone systems, providing friendly and accessible support to colleagues
Develop and implement a practice IT strategy
Ensure the practice keeps up to date with digital innovations in primary care and adopts new IT when it is of benefit to our patients or staff
Set up new users ensuring they have access to required applications and appropriate permissions
Manage practice email distribution list
Liaise with IT support services regarding system problems, user access issues, software updates and all other necessary matters to ensure the smooth running of practice IT systems
Develop expert knowledge of third party software e.g. RAIDR, Ardens, GP Teamnet and make recommendations for effective utilisation and train other staff in their use
Investigate and resolve problems in the day-to-day use of computers, printers and other IT related equipment, where appropriate report faults to IT support services via their helpdesk
Ensure the effective and appropriate running of the practices IT network and e-mail system
Become the practice expert in all aspects of the clinical IT system and be able to train other users, both clinical and non-clinical, in the best use of the system
Attend EMIS user forums and provide feedback to staff about new functionality and updates
Manage the procurement of IT hardware and software following set procedures
Report any significant events relating to the IT systems to the Head of Finance and Information
Manage Smartcard provision and RBAC role allocations
Ensure security of data in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GPDR , including monitoring of staff access and appropriate data storage
Create and maintain templates and protocols to provide accurate coding of patient records
Run searches to find anomalies in clinical data
Identify areas for development and enhancement of the clinical and other systems to ensure both ease of use and optimum data quality
Complete IT inductions for new staff members, ensure they know how to log on to IT systems, use any applications they require and that they understand the practices protocol on data security
Facilitate and oversee the installation of new IT software and hardware
