Job summary

We are looking for a well organised and enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills to succeed in this new exciting role.

The post holder will provide conscience and diligent admin support for our large multi-site GP practice in completing timely and accurate checks on our prescription claims and medication purchasing invoices, as well as supporting our overall practice Finance function. The post holder will work within the Finance team and will strive to ensure accurate monthly submissions of prescription claims, to maximise practice income and ensure precise practice expenditure.

The post holder will have a proven track record in administration or finance support. An understanding of medication and administration in a Healthcare environment would be an advantage, however it is not essential.

20 hours per week.

The salary for this role is pro rata.

Main duties of the job

You should be detail oriented and used to working closely in a multi-disciplinary team.

You would have had experience working in a professional environment, where organisation, prioritising and managing deadlines were a key part of the role.

You should have good IT skills and must be able to maintain productivity in a busy office.

You will enjoy managing your own work load all while being supported by a larger experienced team.

You must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle as driving between our 7 sites is an essential part of the role.

Job responsibilities

Reports toHead of Finance and Information

Prescription Quality Administration

Ensure timely collection of paper prescriptions from all Holderness Health sites and stored safely in agreed location

Check paper prescriptions to ensure correctly completed and endorsed

Liaise with Dispensary Manager to correct any errors or resolve any issues

Check clinical system for appropriate recording of claimable vaccinations and immunisations and correct any errors

Complete monthly submission of FP34 (month-end prescription submission)

Arrange courier collection of FP34 and paper prescriptions to ensure receipt at NHS BSA within specified time frame

Check and reconcile monthly drug invoices, highlighting specific personally administered (PA) medication for correct VAT treatment

Take ownership for the completion of a record of PA medication purchased

Provide support to other members of the Finance Team as and when required

Provide support to the wider teams within the practice to ensure that quality patient care is always prioritised

Reporting

Maintain effective records of activity and produce reports as required

Ensure personal workplan is up to date

Plan for annual leave

Report any concerns to Head of Finance and Information

Provide any agreed performance/activity data
