Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a receptionist at a GP practice. There are options for 15.0 permanent hours or bank (zero hours). We expect the permanent hours to be worked on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Additional hours would be available to cover holiday and sickness.
The purpose of the role is to:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing
the appropriate appointments, service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient
and effective way
Offer general assistance to the Practice and
project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in
person or via the telephone
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to
assist in the smooth running of the Practice.
Facilitate effective communication between
patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other
associated healthcare agencies
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic
receptionist to join our established and hard working team. The role requires someone who is diligent,
friendly and capable, someone who is self motivated, a good communicator and always
striving for the best for the patients.
Ideally the candidate will have experience of working
in a reception environment within a healthcare setting but this is not essential as on-the-job training will be provided. Exceptional candidates
without healthcare experience but with a strong and relevant background
will also be considered.
About us
We have a team of 9 receptionists plus additional bank staff supporting a team of 5 doctors and 5 nurses/assistants. We are always striving to deliver the best possible health services for our patients.
Our main site at Warmdene Surgery is situated just
two minutes off the main A27, offering bright and modern facilities with free
parking and good public transport options. We use the EMIS web clinical
system.
