Correspondence Management/GP Receptionist

As a GP receptionist you will be working within our correspondence management team in addition to general receptionist duties.
You will need to have:
A friendly and confident personality
A smart appearance, good spoken and written correspondence skills
Adhere to all practice protocols including information governance and data protection
The ability to stay calm under pressure
The ability to be polite but firm when dealing with difficult, impatient or upset people
The ability to follow safety and security procedures
An interest in the work of the organisation
Main duties of the job
- Sorting and prioritising clinical post and attaching to patient records
- Dealing with routine clinical post directly eg DNA letters and 2ww letters
- Extracting information from clinical letters that require coding
- To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
- Signposting patients to the appropriate care
- Answering the telephone
- Working on the front desk, greeting patients and answering queries, booking appointments etc

You will need:
Excellent communication & people skills
Friendly & welcoming manner
Experience of working with the public
Experience with clinical coding desirable
Hours to be discussed working 8am until 7pm on a shift basis
