Job summary

The Uplands Medical Practice is looking for a Part Time General Practice Salaried Doctor Working between 4 and 8 sessions per week. The post will be with a view to Partnership. The salary will be based on £9,500 per session inclusive of the Employees NHS Pension Contributions.

Main duties of the job

The Practice is looking for a doctor to join a Clinical Team, which currently comprises of two Partners, two Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Practice Nurse and two Health Care Assistants. The Practice also has access to a Community Partnership.

The Practices uses the Vision Clinical System, and works to a GMS Core Contract. It also works toward high achievement on the Quality Outcomes Framework and the local GM Standards. It also offers a range of Enhanced Services. Each clinician is expected to support the contract requirements and contribute to the success of the Practice.

About us

The Practice is based in a building owned by NHS Properties and has a good standard of accommodation with sufficient clinical and non-clinical rooms. In addition to the Clinical Team mentioned above the Practice has a strong administration team, led by a Practice Manager and an Assistant Manager.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Salaried GP is expected to take an equal share of the clinical workload of the Practice, including patients consultations, which may be face to face, by telephone or video calls. The Practice has been developing new ways of working since the start of the Pandemic.

The Salaried GP is expected to provide all necessary and appropriate treatment and care to patients, and to make appropriate referrals, urgent or otherwise, and use the NHS E-Referral System as necessary.

The Salaried GP is expected to process repeat prescriptions, pathology results and clinical letters. The Practices uses the DocMan system.

The Salaried GP must ensure that he/she is available to carry out sessions, when on duty and when on call at the surgery premises, and must be available by telephone during core hours (8:00 - 18:30) each working day.

The Salaried GP should be available to attend Practice Clinical Meetings.
