Job summary
Are you an experienced finance professional seeking a rewarding role in healthcare? We have an exciting opening for a Finance Manager at our GP Practice in Plymouth. You'll be essential to maintaining our practice's financial health and operational efficiency, enabling us to provide exceptional patient care.
This role is pivotal within our small management team, requiring autonomy and versatility to manage various financial aspects and income streams crucial to our practice. While experience with GP finances is preferred, it's not mandatory. The final job description will be tailored to the successful candidate's skills and interests, with opportunities for development and a supportive team environment.
Terms and conditions: This is envisaged to be a part time role (20-25 hours a week) with flexibility on the days and times. However, we would be open to discussions about a wider or narrower role for more or less hours. Salary is dependent on experience and skills and is eligible for the NHS Pension scheme.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts: Collaboration with accountants for yearly accounts.
Budgets and Reporting: Management reporting for Practice Manager and Partners.
Cash Flow: Monitoring and forecasting all aspects of cash flow.
Payroll: Liaising with external IRIS managed outsourced payroll system, PAYE, Pensions and locum payments.
Xero processing: Standard business procedures and reconciliations using Xero to include debtor and creditor monitoring, bank reconciliation and general bookkeeping.
Partners' Finances: Managing and reporting financial data to include annual NHS Pension data.
Claims: Data collection, submission, and income tracking.
Potential or Shared Responsibilities:
Procurement and Contracts: Quotes, monitoring, and shared decision-making.
Personnel: Leave management, workforce statistics, etc.
Facilities and Premises: Insurance, utilities, related contracts.
Health and Safety: Record-keeping and shared management.
General Compliance: Overview and management of various aspects.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Minimum 3 years' experience in business finance and an AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
Strong Math, English, Communications and IT skills.
Experience in GP practice finance or transferable skills.
Financial administration proficiency.
Self-motivated and autonomous.
Ability to manage multiple financial strands concurrently.
Confidence in dealing with stakeholders and negotiation.
