Job summary

Long Bennington Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our dynamic, supportive, and progressive team working 4 to 6 sessions per week.

Long Bennington Medical Centre is a well-established dispensing doctors practice located in the rural village of Long Bennington on the boarder of Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. We are situated in a purpose-built medical centre and proud to be part of a forward-thinking Primary Care Network with numerous supportive ARRs roles.

-Supported by an experienced, highly skilled team comprising of 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 Care Coordinator, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician, Mental Health Practitioner, Musculoskeletal Practitioner, Neighbourhood Coordinator, an experienced practice management team, administration team, Medical Secretary, reception & dispensary teams.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. The post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d. Effective management of long-term conditions

e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

g. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

h. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

i. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

j. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas)

k. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings

l. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance and training

m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

n. Prepare and complete the revalidation process

o. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

p. Support the Partners and Practice Manager in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
