Job summary
Following the release of ARRS GP funding, Truro PCN are looking for two newly qualified GPs (within 2 years of qualification) to join us for 4 sessions per week (each role). One will be based at Lander Medical Practice. The Salary range is £8,000 - £10,000 per session, per annum and is dependent on experience.
In this role, the GP will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse population, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic healthcare solutions. The successful candidate will actively engage in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Eligible applicants must be on NHS Englands medical practitioner list, hold full registration with the GMC on the General Practitioner Register, and have completed their GP training (Certificate of Completion of Training in General Practice) within the past two years. They should also demonstrate professional integrity with no suspensions or regulatory restrictions employment terms within the PCN framework.
The position requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK, medical indemnity insurance, and an enhanced DBS check.
Main duties of the job
- Face to face and telephone consultations.
- Patient and nursing home visits.
- Checking, reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions.
- Responsible for dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters NHS/private, task, emails and other paperwork and correspondence.
- Clinical management of the patients as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
- Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE.
- Responsible for following up on own initiated investigations, referrals, tasks, emails and other paperwork to ensure actions are completed.
- Contribute to the management of chronic disease, health promotion, and disease prevention in line with best practices and PCN goals.
- Support the development and implementation of new care pathways that align with ARRS objectives.

Truro PCN consists of two GP Practices, Lander Medical Practice and Threespires Medical Practice. Both operate from Truro Health Park and together we have a dedicated team of GPs and staff caring for around 36,000 patients. We are learning practices, hosting GP trainees and Medical Students from the Peninsula School of Primary Care and the University of Exeter Medical School.
