Job summary
Following the release of ARRS GP information and funding we are looking for newly qualified (within 2
years and not having had a substantive post) GP on a fixed term salaried contract until 31st March
2025.We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Newly Qualified GP to join our multidisciplinary
team under the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). This flexible position requires
a commitment of 4 sessions a week.
We are high performing practices with a strong ethos of continuity of patient care, teamwork and peer
support. We have a list size of circa 26,000 patients, we use SystmOne and our most recent CQC
rating was GOOD.
Main duties of the job
Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and
enhanced services where appropriate.
Provide other personal medical services to meet identified patients need.
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self referred, or referred from other healthcare professionals within the organisation.
Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice;
disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
Work within current ICB policy for prescribing.
About us
Wyvern Health Primary Care Network incorporates The Lawn Medical Centre, Old Town Surgery and
Priory Road Medical Centre. The PCN is based in Swindon supporting over 26,000 patients.
Support from a highly experienced clinical support team including Nurses, Care Home Visiting
Service, PCN Physiotherapist and Care Coordinators.
A strong prescribing team lead by a pharmacist and supported by pharmacy technicians,
prescribing clerks and virtual pharmacists.
Strong links with our PCN colleagues and services, many of the PCN services are located in
our Primary Care Network
A fully established Admin and Secretarial team utilising current electronic and workflow
principles.

Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand written
prescriptions whenever possible.
To take part in areas including clinical auditing and data collection.
Contribute to QOF & IIF requirements and recording data appropriately.
Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary.

- Registration and Certification:
- Be included in NHS England list of medical practitioners as per section 91 of the NHS Act 2006.
- Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the General Practitioner Register.
- Be a Newly Qualified GP who obtained their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice within the last two years, verifying completion of the postgraduate training required to practise independently.
- Professional Standing:
- Not be prohibited from providing services due to regulation breaches (e.g., NHS Performers
- Lists Regulations).
- Not be suspended from practice by the NHS or from the GMCs list of medical practitioners.
- Not be subject to any interim suspension orders from the GMC under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983.
- Employment Terms:
- Agree to be employed directly by Wyvern Health PCN and commit to the required working hours.
- Be employed on terms at least as favourable as those outlined in the Model terms and conditions of service for a salaried general practitioner employed by a GMS practice.
