Job summary
Westbourne Medical Group have an exciting opportunity for an an experienced medical receptionist / administrator to join our friendly team.
We are a busy GP practice with just over 6500 patients and rated 'Outstanding' by CQC.
The post is 16-20 hours over 2-3 working days with 6 o'clock finishes on at least two days.
Experience working in GP / Primary care environment and Emis Web experience is desirable, however training will be provided. Salary will be paid according to experience.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
You would also need to be a good team player, able to work on your own initiative, effectively and efficiently. Candidates would be required to pay attention to detail and work within set time frames.

The team consists of 2 GP partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants and a full complement of Admin team.
We offer 5 weeks' paid holiday plus bank holidays and birthday off. We have contractual sick pay scheme for our staff and NHS pension.

Main Purpose of the job: To be the focal point of the surgery and to act as a liaison between patients, clinicians and other members of the practice team, and to provide a high standard of customer services at all times.
The candidate will:
Ensure the smooth running of the reception and prioritise workload as appropriate.
Answer telephone enquiries in a prompt, efficient and helpful manner.
Will liaise with hospitals and other outside agencies regarding appointments, missing hospital correspondence and test results.
Deal with enquiries from patients professionally and sympathetically.
Will request prescriptions and complete administrative tasks.
Will provide additional administrative support to the practice as required.
