Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse at Kenmore Medical Centre in Wilmslow. We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse to support us in providing our patients with the highest standard of care.

Monday - Friday - Full or part time will be considered.

INTERVIEWS TO BE HELD END OF MARCH

Planned start date early ASAP. Pay negotiable dependant on experience.

Main duties of the job

Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes which promote health and well being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well being

Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patient with a known long term condition

Proactively identify and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long term condition as appropriate.

Undertakes agreed procedures eg - blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height and weight body mass index ,venepuncture, ear syringing, ECG, peak flow readings, cytology, travel and childhood vaccinations.

Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiating effective emergency care.

Assess and care for patients attending with wounds

Implement and participate in immunisation programmes for both adults and children

Assist in minor surgery

Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure that patients are fully informed and consent to treatment

Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background, and language differences

Essential

  • General Practice experience essential.
  • Management of long-term conditions i.e., Diabetes, Family Planning, and Cardiac Clinics.
  • Wound care assessment
  • Involvement in implementing and using protocols, clinical guidelines and working under PGDS
  • Experience of audit.

Skills

Essential

  • Clinical skills Immunisations adult and childhood vaccinations. Venepuncture, dressings, cervical cytology, ECG, ear syringing, sexual health.
