Main duties of the job

a. Overseeing administrative elements of QOF, PQRRS, IIF, DES, LES etc

b. Guiding staff & developing searches / audits on EMIS

c. Reviewing & updating clinical templates ensuring they relate to current practice

d. Responsibility for maintaining the practice assets register

e. Oversee practice PPA claims

f. Support the overall practice clinical governance framework, submitting reports for OQF, enhanced services & other reporting requirements

g. Management of the clinical systems, ensuring IT security & IG compliance at all times & responding to and resolving local IT issues

h. Monitor & disseminate information on safety alerts & other pertinent information

i. Direct line management of coding team, including undertaking quality audits

j. Updating & acting as the focal point for the practice website and social media sites

k. Supporting the practice manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice

l. Oversee the complaints process, ensuring complaints are dealt with appropriately & escalate where necessary

m. Implementing systems to ensure compliance with CQC regulations & standards

n. Assist practice manager with implementing & embedding an effective staff appraisal process for non-clinical staff

o. Marketing the practice appropriately to ensure patient population is stable or increasing

p. Managing contracts for services i.e., H&S, cleaning etc

Primary responsibilities:

The following are the core responsibilities of the Data Quality & Performance Manager. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

The Data Quality & Performance Manager is responsible for:

a.Overseeing the administrative elements of QOF, PQRRS, IIF, DES, LES liaising with GPs, nursing staff and administrators

b.Guiding staff and developing searches and audits on the clinical system

c.Reviewing and updating clinical templates ensuring they relate to current practice

d.Guiding the team to reach QOF, PQRRS, IIF (and any other) targets (supported by the nursing and administrative leads)

e.Responsibility for monitoring and maintaining the practice assets register

p.Assist practice manager with implementing and embedding an effective staff appraisal process (for non-clinical staff)

r.Managing contracts for and highlighting issues with services i.e., H&S, cleaning, gardening, window cleaning etc.

s.Managing DNAs, providing data and planning tools coupled with liaison with referred repeat offenders

Secondary responsibilities

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Data Quality & Performance Manager may be requested to:

a.Deputise for the Office Manager when necessary

b.Assist the Office Manager in leading the management of the Patient Participation Group

c.Ensure all staff are aware of the management of the premises, including health and safety aspects and undertake risk assessments and mandatory training as required

d.Brief clinicians on performance levels, advising actions to ensure high achievement across all QOF areas

e.Support the practice manager in the reviewing and updating of practice policies and procedures

f.Support the practice and management team with continuous improvement and change initiatives

g.Assist the practice manager by conducting QIPs and practice audits, consistently looking for ways in which to improve services

h.Implementing and embedding an effective practice and staff development plan for all staff (clinical and administrative) whilst maintaining a robust training record

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • NHS/ Primary Care general practice experience

Desirable

  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
  • Relevant health and safety experience

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
