Job summary

The Sides Medical Centre is looking to welcome a Medical Administrator to join our practice team, to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone to work 37 hours.

Hours of work will be: confirmed at interview.

All our Administration team are trained in aspects of both reception and administration roles, which keeps each day different and engaging. The right candidate will be hard working and organised team players. We are looking for someone who is flexible and eager to learn new skills. Excellent communication skills are essential, and a good understanding of IT is desirable. Experienced candidates in General Practice working are desirable however, full training is provided in-house so inexperienced candidates should not be discouraged.

Meeting, greeting and directing visitors and patients, booking, changing and cancelling appointments, receiving and making calls to patients, pharmacies, other healthcare professionals and outside agencies, dealing with queries from patients, pharmacies, other healthcare professionals and outside agencies, processing prescription requests, liaising with the in-house pharmacy team and external pharmacies, scanning incoming documents and forwarding to the most appropriate person or team, readcoding and summarising patient records, filing and retrieving paper records, sending and receiving faxes and emails. Log and process as required, chaperoning, copying of patient records for solicitors requests, sending post, opening incoming post, receiving and processing samples from patients, contacting patients to arrange follow ups from incoming letters or test results, as required, typing and sending referrals and dealing with all patient referral related queries

Overview of your organisation

We are a large training practice based in Swinton with a practice list size of 13,500.

We have a practice team of 6 GP partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 4 GP trainees, 1 ANP, 4 practice nurses, 3 HCAs, 1 paramedic, large pharmacy team, administration team of 15 and 2 Managers.

We use EMIS web, Docman and AccuRx as our clinical systems.
