Job summary

Compass House Medical Centres is a forward thinking and dynamic surgery, and we are seeking an Occupational Therapist with a special interest in Mental Health to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health Practitioner (OT registered) to join the growing team of allied health professionals at Baywide Primary Care Network (PCN). The successful candidate will take a key role in our growing Primary Care Mental Health Team, shaping a major new and transformative approach to providing mental health care in a community primary care setting. They will be responsible for working closely with General Practitioners and the primary care team to provide assessments, brief interventions and care navigation for people with mental health issues living within our PCN foot print.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner and will be expected to collaborate with other health care professionals including GPs, Practice Nurses, Secondary Care Practitioners, Social Prescribers and third-party organisations.

Essential

  • Registered mental health professional appropriate to the job role (occupational therapist).
  • Evidence of post qualification training/education.
  • Evidence of recent continued professional development.
  • Mentorship or equivalent.

Desirable

  • A commitment to completing quality improvement training.

  • Relevant clinical experience.
  • Experience of working with people who have experienced serious ongoing mental health problems.
