Job summary
- The post holder will have experience within a customer service role, be friendly, approachable, empathetic and have excellent communication skills.
- The post holder will have good knowledge of Microsoft Word and or possess confident PC skills.
- The post holder will also have excellent organisation skills and will work well within a busy team environment as well as on their own initiative.
- The post holder will need to be flexible to work within the practices business opening hours and able to undertake extra hours, due to holidays and sickness at short notice, as and when required.
- A care co-ordinator is a solution orientated person.
- The post holder will be involved in all administrative areas with a good solid overview of each role to enable cross cover in the following areas: Reception / call centre/ Administrative allocations.
- Ensuring relevant work area is clean and tidy and offer a smart image of the practice.
Main duties of the job
- Act as first point of contact & representative of the practice. Run a diary, booking, moving, changing, & arriving patients. Update with delays.Give advise on partner services for patients to contact, such as pharmacy, physio, Navigo etc. Competently use a computer to amend information, issue prescriptions, online access & update records appropriately. Add home visits along with information for clinical team. Transfer messages to the appropriate person via nominated pathways. Complete returned task. Use accurx. Know how to find pathology & radiology results, respond appropriately to patient or Clinical staff with results Using NHS Email ensuring checked regularly. Liaising with outside agencies & other clinicians to ensure housebound patients are reviewed. Sending electronic referrals. Upholding the practice policies & guidance on Confidentiality, Health and Safety, Infection control & equality diversity.Call Centre:Receive incoming calls & record, respond, allocate as needed to assist the caller. Answering the phone, maintaining a polite, phone manner, directing calls appropriately. This is a high pressure, fast paced role that requires quick thinking & empathy whist adhering to protocols, a polite manner is needed to reassure the caller, they are being cared for to the best of the practices ability.
About us
Our practice is made up of 5 male partner GP's . We have 2 salaried female GP's, and 14 other clinical staffs with a variety of skills, along with a full admin team.
We are a well established and respected training practice with over 16000 patients.
The main site is situated on the thorough fare between Grimsby and Cleethorpes. We have also recently established a Branch site within another local medical center, to allow for ease of access for patients.
Our staff are a family and we treat our patients as family.
