Job summary
We are a friendly, busy GP training Practice who are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and sociable team-player to join our dedicated team.
You will be responsible for providing a high-quality and efficient administration service, with the responsibility for inbound and outbound patient calls. This is an important position within our business as you will be the first point of contact for all our patients, you will be expected to provide a friendly and supportive environment for patients and visitors at all times.You will also be relied upon to provide an essential support function to the clinical and management teams, so that they can deliver the best care and provide the full range of NHS Primary Medical Services. You must work with autonomy and a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion, empathy and tact.This is a great opportunity for some one that really wants to have an impact on people's lives, to join a supportive and patient committed team. Previous experience of working in a Health Care/ GP setting is preferred although training will be provided to a suitable candidate

Main duties of the job
KEY DUTIES OF THE JOB
To deliver a quality service, dealing directly with patients, relatives and carers either face to face, on the telephone or online. Navigating patients to the best-placed clinician to deal with their issue (GP, Practice Nurse, physio, pharmacist, paramedic or social prescriber)
Accepting new patients, checking details of registration, e.g., present address, previous address, previous doctor, date of birth, number in household etc and offering new patient health checks and practice leaflet.
Registering patients on the clinical system (permanent and temporary resident)
To provide a first point of contact for patients when dealing with queries with the ability to signpost as appropriate.
Taking requests for repeat prescriptions in writing or online i.e. ordering and issuing of signed prescriptions and dealing with queries.
Giving patients their test results, where appropriate via the telephone or face to face.
Dealing with form completion requested by patients including receiving payment fees i.e., DVLA, Travel Vaccinations and Medicals.
Scanning reports and correspondence from various sources to the appropriate doctor and into the patients notes.
Issuing patients passwords for access to on-line systems.
Contacting patients by telephone to ensure their computer details are updated and recorded correctly.
