Mental Health Practitioner

Job summary

You will be working as the Mental Health Practitioner for the Christchurch PCN covering the GP Practices (listed below at the bottom of this advert). You will be part of a large multidisciplinary team which supports a population of 49,000 patients.

You will provide support for people with significant mental illness to meet their needs, closer to their communities and homes.

You will focus on common mental health disorders for example, anxiety and depression, particularly where these occur in patients with long term physical health conditions such as diabetes, respiratory and heart problems.

This is a brand-new position within the network and an exciting time to join! You will have the opportunity to shape and develop a new approach to providing mental health care within the community.

Main duties of the job

In order to be considered for the position, you will be a Registered Nurse with specialist training in the area of mental health (RMN). Ideally, you will have experience of working in primary and secondary mental health services.

You will be a self-motivated and amities to work on your own initiative.
