Penistone Group Practice are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Phlebotomist/HCA to join our friendly nursing team within a dynamic and progressive primary care environment.

The post is to cover 30 hours. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm.

Main duties of the job

Phlebotomy/Health Care Assistant experience is essential.

HCA`s work out of all three of our sites at Penistone, Silkstone and Thurgoland.

BP Monitoring, Diabetic foot checks, CG, Injections, Ear syringing and Basic wound care.

About us

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Integrated Nursing Team at this 3 site GP Training/Dispensing Practice.

We have over 60 staff - 6 Partners, 8 GP`s, all working along side a dedicated team of Nurse, HCA`s, Dispensary, Secretaries & Admin, Reception.

Job responsibilities

1. To assist with the care of patients physical, personal, psychological and social needs, ensuring that a high standard of patient care is achieved and carried out within a safe work environment.

2. To assist in providing comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluations of patient care.

3. To participate in the identification, monitoring and evaluation of patient care needs to provide accurate information for the planning and delivery of care.

4. To participate in training opportunities as provided, to ensure skills and competence are maintained and updated to promote improved patient care and staff development.

5. To develop effective relationships with staff and patients in the pursuit of a high standard of patient care and to help identify ways in which it can be improved.

6. To assist with the ordering, storage rotation and issue of stock and supplies in order to ensure proper usage, avoidance of waste and the application of policies and procedures contained within the system.
