Job summary

We are looking to expand our current team of multi-skilled nurses. We have a part time role available and working arrangements are negotiable depending on skills.

Main duties of the job

Main job responsibilities are:

  • Cytology
  • Wound care / ulcer care / Doppler / Removal of Sutures
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Chronic disease management especially COPD, Asthma
  • Hypertension management
  • Routine immunisations/childhood immunisations
  • Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
  • Chlamydia testing / Swab taking
  • HPV Vaccinations
  • Contraception services
  • Undertaking home visits as required
  • Well-people checks
  • Providing general advice and guidance to patients / health promotion

These are to name but a few of the skills required but we are willing to provide training to the successful candidate.

About us

We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our team. We are a busy but friendly GP practice in Dartford. Our clinical team has 5 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs. We are a GP training practice and have a list size of approximately 15,500 registered patients.

Job responsibilities

Job responsibilities:

Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs

Interest in Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease (desirable)

Cytology

Wound care / Ulcer care/Doppler/ compression bandaging

Travel Health

Removal of Sutures

Venepuncture

Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations

Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician

Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs

Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate

Other tasks will include

Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms, including stocking and rotating items as required

Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses

Participation in administrative systems in the Practice

At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records

Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required

Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
