Job summary
We are looking to recruit a skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly surgery in Saxmundham, Suffolk. You will work with our PCN pharmacists and practice staff to ensure safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication. We are ideally looking to recruit full time but will consider flexible/part-time hours.
Main duties of the job
Pharmacy technicians play an important role, complementing clinical pharmacists, dispensary, medicines management, clinical and non clinical team within the surgery.
Saxmundham Health's Pharmacy Technicians core responsibilities will cover clinical, technical and administrative components.
The purpose of the role is to lead improvements to maximise safe, cost effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of our patients care. The post holder will support patients to get eh best from their medications by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce medicine waste.
In addition, the post holder will be responsible for encouraging the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout the practice teams and promoting good practice in line with therapeutic developments. This will involve assisting the practice and PCN in achieving national requirements, NICE implementation and utilisation of medicines optimisation initiatives.

Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship
Support drug monitoring and safe authorisation of repeat medications
Technical:
